When Something Finally Moves You

We all know what it feels like to be stuck. Stuck in old patterns, stuck in fear, stuck in the safe but suffocating comfort of doing nothing. Sometimes we tell ourselves it’s caution. Other times we call it wisdom. Deep down, though, we know it’s fear disguised.

What makes the difference? At some point, something has to move us. We can’t think our way out of paralysis; we have to be stirred out of it. It might be God whispering in prayer, a word from Scripture that cuts through excuses, or even the love of another person that challenges us to rise up. Movement comes when we stop standing in our own way and allow God’s Spirit to push us beyond fear and into faith.

Faith, after all, is motion. Hebrews 11 doesn’t describe people who sat still with good intentions; it describes people who obeyed, who walked, who built, who risked. The moment we are moved, we step into the story of faith. It may be small at first — a phone call, an apology, a prayer whispered through tears — but even the smallest motion cracks open the door for God’s greater work.

Maybe that’s where you are today. Maybe you’ve prayed, analyzed, and delayed long enough. The question is simple: what will move you? Not tomorrow, not someday, but today. When God moves your heart, don’t resist. Let that stirring become action. That’s where new life begins.
