When Life Feels Like an Escape Room

Picture
If you’ve ever been in an escape room, you know the feeling: locked in, searching for clues, trying to solve puzzle after puzzle to get out. It’s fun in a game, but in real life it can feel exhausting. We find ourselves in difficult circumstances, trying everything we can to figure out the way forward. We analyze, we scheme, we replay scenarios in our minds. The harder we try, the more stuck we feel.

Here’s the part we forget: in an escape room, there’s always a game master. At any moment, you can say, “I want out,” and the door opens. Or if you’re struggling, you can ask for a clue. You’re not really trapped. The power to end the game is never in your hands — it’s in the hands of the one running it.

Life works the same way. God is the Master over every circumstance we face. When we try to muscle through, we only wear ourselves out. When we finally turn and say, “Lord, I need You,” the pressure lifts. Sometimes He changes the situation, sometimes He changes us, but either way He holds the key. We were never meant to solve it all on our own.

So when life feels like an escape room, stop scrambling for every hidden clue. Call on the One who runs the game. He can open doors no man can shut, and He knows exactly how to lead you through.
