How Much does counseling cost?
There is no charge for counseling. However, donations to our nonprofit are deeply appreciated.
How and Why IS there no charge?
Christian counseling rates per session typically range from $75-$125 or more. Your counselor is offering his service at no charge. Donors to our nonprofit organization make this possible. It is hard put a price on the spiritual and emotional benefits that often result from investing in counseling. Frankly, counseling is expensive because it is extremely valuable. Although no fee is charged, donations to our nonprofit organization are welcomed and appreciated so this ministry can continue to exist to help you and others.
Do You Take Insurance?
Since we do not charge for our service, insurance is not necessary. Also, we offer biblical counseling and do not participate directly with health insurance for our discipleship counseling service. Most insurance companies require a diagnosis from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, and we don't do that at Real Life Christian Counseling. We welcome those who want others to get the help they need to donate to Real Life Christian Counseling on a regular basis.
HOW DO I REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT?
Please send an email message through our CONTACT page to request an appointment. New clients are taken on a limited basis; not everyone who contacts us will be seen for counseling. Let us know your needs in your email.
How can I make a donation?
Donations are accepted in-person, by mail, or online. To donate online, simply click DONATE on the site menu.
How long do sessions last?
Sessions are by appointment only and generally last 60 minutes.
What is pastoral counseling?
Pastoral counseling ministers to the whole person: spirit, soul, and body. Pastoral counseling uses ethical counseling techniques in combination with biblical principles and believes the Bible is the final standard of authority for the counselor. A belief that God is the one who ultimately brings about healing in our lives is the key to restoration.
What is the difference between a pastoral counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor?
Pastoral counselors are considered clergy and ministers first, and counselors second. The pastoral counselor is in the Ministry of Counseling. National Christian Counselors Association pastoral counselors have a national license and provide Biblical counseling. Licensed Professional Counselors are licensed by the state. Most Licensed Professional Counselors provide commercial/secular counseling. During your first appointment(s), your counselor will help you determine what is the best kind of help for you. We will offer referrals to local Licensed Professional Counselors or recommend other professionals if the issues you are dealing with beyond the scope of the spiritual help we offer.
